Heaven’s Ranch is an extremely family-friendly and reasonably affordable private getaway located on five acres of beautiful land on Camano Island, just one hour north of Seattle.  Unlike the traditional bed and breakfast or inn experience, they offer a very private experience including a roomy two-bedroom suite, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious family room, a huge main floor with private entrance, a wood burning fireplace, a barbecue, a swimming pool and a hot tub, as well as a family game room.  The game room is equipped with all kinds of fun activities for the whole family, including air hockey, foosball, darts, card table and board games.  They also offer a great library of books and magazines, satellite television and movies on a flat-screen television with surround sound.  There is something for everyone. 

If you want to enjoy the luxury of having home cooked meals prepared for you, you can make a request in advance with their very talented Chef Candelario.  His meals are prepared with organic vegetables from the house’s gardens.  The atmosphere is very friendly and warm, and the entire experience is very private and relaxing.  I am not a huge fan of B&B’s or Inns, and I rarely frequent them, but this place really stands out.  It’s a great place to bring your kids for the perfect combination of a down-to-earth experience mixed with little luxuries that leave you feeling well taken care of. 

The owners are very environmentally conscious, and they work very hard to keep things ego-friendly.  They have future plans to have solar panels installed as an alternative energy source to power their natural spring well, which is the house’s main water source.  They also plan to expand their land into a fully functional farm, complete with horses and a petting zoo.  If you are a nature lover, you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place to stay.  I could have spent a week roaming their five acres of land, watching the wildlife and staring in amazement at their tall tall trees.

Easy access to Interstate 5 provides for easy access to nearby casinos and shops, as well as many outdoor activities such as skiing, kayaking, horseback riding, golfing, boating, whale watching and fishing.  British Columbia, Canada is also near by. 

Children are welcome, although anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised in the swimming pool or hot tub.  Pets are allowed, subject to prior approval and a cleaning fee.  Smoking is not allowed.  Prices per night range from $139 - $189.  A week’s stay runs from around $900 - $1,300.  Reservations are guaranteed with a $150 advance deposit.  Deposit is refundable unless you cancel within 72 hours of arrival date.
